Clayworks for the Home
Our signature and one-of-a kind pieces are made with leaves, with the priority being very large and very textured. Leaves taken from the garden or hikes through local parks, and various vegetable selections. Kale leaves work wonderful as they have both large veins and great texture including great leaf structured edges. The Empress tree. Sycamore, Norway Maple, and wild rhubarb are also great, large leaf providers. Janell enjoys both handbuilding and throwing her pieces with a preference for handbuilding allowing her to use nature's elements such as the leaves, woods, and barks. These glazed and fired pottery pieces are unique and one of a kind, and make interesting platters or table and sideboard decorations.
